Francesca’s opened its doors on 1st July 2025 in Wombourne, proudly becoming the first café of the Francesca’s brand (everyone has to start somewhere).

We’re all about fresh, locally sourced food, properly good coffee, and home-baked cakes that weren’t meant to be “just one slice”. Quality matters to us, but so does creating a place where everyone feels comfortable, welcome, and a little bit spoiled.

We’re proudly dog-friendly, because with a dog groomer directly opposite and the Wombourne Railway Walk on our doorstep, it would’ve been rude not to be. Muddy boots, waggy tails and post-walk refuels are very much encouraged. We even have very special Doggy Treats available.

One of our biggest stars is the traditional Staffordshire oatcake. As a Stoke girl, Francesca was never going to open a café without them on the menu. They’ve become such a hit that people travel just to get their fix, and they’ve even landed us a feature in the Express & Star. From oatcake old-timers to total first timers, we’ve converted a fair few people along the way.

So, whether you’re popping in for a quick caffeine fix, settling in for a cosy catch-up, or just need an excuse to pause for a moment, Francesca’s is the place. We’ll provide the comfort, the luxury, and we can’t wait to welcome you.

Hi, Francesca here and yes…. i actually did it!

I opened my very first coffee shop.

I’m the kind of girl who gets an idea and goes full force (no brakes, no backup plan, just vibes). I don’t like to fail… and here I am, standing behind my own coffee machine and absolutely loving life. I’m beyond proud of what I’ve built and so grateful to have opened the doors to something that started as a wild idea and turned into a dream come true.

Before coffee took over my soul, I was (and still am) a fully qualified florist. I’m also a mum to three little humans, which means I proudly hold the titles of nurse, therapist, cleaner, snack provider, and professional referee. Somewhere in between all of that, I became a business owner, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier.

Since opening, my family has grown in the best way. I’ve met so many beautiful people who have become friends, regulars, and the reason this place feels like home. This coffee shop isn’t just about great coffee, it’s about connection, community, and feeling welcome the moment you walk through the door.

And behind the scenes? I have the most supportive partner ever. He’s been dragged along for the ride (lovingly), picking up a full-time unpaid job along the way, hats off to him 😂 I truly couldn’t do this without his constant support, patience, and belief in me. (You can read more about him further down the page.)

So welcome grab a coffee, stay awhile, and know that every cup here comes with a whole lot of heart… and maybe a little chaos too.

A little about me, I’ve had my hands in a few things over the years. Catering, Hairdressing, a National Diploma in Art & Design, a University Degree in Dance & Theatre, Deputy Manager at Costa Coffee, running my own small online business, and now Store Manager here at Francesca’s. Phew! That’s quite a mix, but I’ve always loved working with people and helping them feel their best even if it sometimes breaks my back doing it.

Every day at Francesca’s is a chance to bring a little joy, a little caffeine, and a lot of smiles to everyone who walks through the door. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Supporting Francesca in following her dream was never a question. Helping her take this opportunity and put her own unique mark on the hospitality industry has been incredibly special to watch.

Her passion, drive, and love for what she does show in every part of this café. I’m proud to support her, stand beside her, and be part of a journey that means so much to her.

"The Little Helpers"

Meet two of our smallest team members, Ronnie and Jacob, part of Francesca’s family and very much future café owners in training. You might spot them around the shop on weekends and school holidays, helping out, saying hello, and taking their jobs very seriously.

We’re starting them young, learning responsibility, teamwork, and how to be around coffee without drinking it.
Future bosses… watch this space 😉
